President’s Message

A harmonious society, in which dominates gender parity, is based on the principle of gender equality and equity and on partnership between women and men who actively, consciously and voluntarily involve themselves in various activities, regardless of their gender.
For over 10 years, Political Club of Women 50/50 conducted seminars, trainings and workshops aimed at promoting and involving women in politics. As a result, the most courageous women became members of different parties, became mayors and councilors in local authorities, members of Parliament of Moldova.
For over 10 years, through kindness, perseverance, moral uprightness, inherited from Lidia Istrati, Ecaterina Mardarovici, I plead for a democratic change through my participation in political life. I considered the sense of truth being a guide on my way to knowledge. As a professional in the field of education I achieved great successes through my students, and thus creating outstanding individuals over the years. My political education/experience, starting with agitator, Deputy-Chair of the Elections Office, Chair of the Elections Office, candidate for councilor in the local bodies, was not limited to the Republic of Moldova - but also Ukraine and Macedonia.
I became President of the Political Club of Women 50/50, fact that both honors and obliges me, together with the team members, to change the social and political status of woman, to improve her destiny.
There are many of us with great potential. Together we will succeed. It depends on us, on our efforts.

Silvia Guzun
President 2010-2012

     Distinguished Ladies!
During the 10 years of existence, the Political Club of Women 50/50 was for women from Moldova the driving force that has stimulated their interest for everything that happens in the society and mobilized political parties to active participate in the socio-political life of the country. Together we managed to contribute to strengthening the society, we have eliminated some outdated stereotypes, but still valid in Moldova and we have achieved remarkable successes, such as the number of women mayors or councilors elected at all levels, but also Members of Parliament of R. Moldova. Regardless of political affinities, women have been supportive and proved solidarity, organizing many training workshops, actions that led to raising awareness of public opinion. We have succeeded, ultimately, to demonstrate that only together we can achieve beautiful things. The period of 10 years is great, but very little if you compare it to the yet unsolved issues in Moldova. That is why I believe that it is time to continue our work together.

Valentina Stratan
President 2008-2010

For 10 years, I experience the joy of working in a team passionate about politics, determined to contribute to the achievement of some good changes in our society. This fact made it possible to implement several important projects. Within these activities, I met the strongest and most courageous women in Moldova - women active in public life, members of various political parties, as well as non-affiliated women. I admire them all for the skills with which they manage to struggle in the political and professional life, but also for their families to be harmonious. In these 10 years, I understood that it's hard to be a politician, a professional and a good family person. It is difficult, but possible.
I learned a lot from each experience, but I have shared generously from my own experience that I gained from 1986 until present - from activist in electoral campaigns, executive director of LDCFM, member of Parliament, member of political party without any position and then again deputy president of political party, until person without a party.
We learned that we can be supportive, competitive, but also partners. All depends on our desire.
I consider myself a lucky woman and that because I met many women who have supported me in early career in the non-governmental sphere, and later every time I asked for support.
The age of 10 years is an opportunity to make our conclusions, but also an opportunity to talk about the future.
